Get to know our area.

Crystal Creek Lodge is located in northwest Belize, just outside the quiet village of Blue Creek in the Orange Walk District. This region is known for its expansive jungle, incredible biodiversity, and deep cultural history. It’s one of the most ecologically and archaeologically significant areas in the country—and one of the least disturbed.

Our property sits along the Rio Bravo River and borders the Rio Bravo Conservation Area, a protected wilderness spanning over 250,000 acres. The landscape here is alive with tropical forest, winding waterways, and open skies. From toucans to howler monkeys, iguanas to the occasional tapir, wildlife is a natural part of your surroundings.

Though remote, the lodge is within reach of several remarkable destinations. Just a short drive away, the La Milpa Field Station offers access to forest trails and one of the largest Maya sites in Belize. The Lamanai Archaeological Reserve is another nearby highlight, where towering temples and ancient plazas overlook a lagoon. The village of Blue Creek offers a glimpse into local life—quiet, rural, and welcoming.

Guests should be aware that the lodge is about a 25-minute drive from the centre of Blue Creek (home to a grocery store, some convenience shops, a restaurant and coffee shop that is open on weekends), and roughly an hour from larger supermarkets and shops in Orange Walk Town. We recommend picking up any essentials before arriving, especially if you're planning to cook your own meals or stay for several days. That said, the remote setting is part of what makes this place so special—there’s nothing between you and the jungle but fresh air and time.

This part of Belize moves at its own pace. It’s a place for travelers who want more than a checklist—who come for the stillness, the wildlife, the connection to land and history. Whether you’re here to explore or to rest, the area around Crystal Creek Lodge offers space to do both.
